Hired!

As many of you who read my posts here know, I have been working tirelessly to get into shape and get hired on with a law enforcement agency here in the midwest.

On Wednesday (July 23), I received a call from the agency stating that I was officially a police officer with the city. The city HR guy said all my tests came back without any problems. I am to report to the Police Department at 0800 on August 11th in full uniform. We will then walk over to the courthouse and I will be sworn-in at 0900. That day I will start my FTO. Academy will follow shortly thereafter.

It has been about 1.5 years of going through hiring processes and trying to figure out what agency I wanted to work for. Once I found this particular agency, it took 7 months from the time of application to the day I got the call.

I am very happy and excited to finally start my career. I feel that for the past 2-3 years, I haven't been able to use my education much in my current position. I'm glad I'll now be able to utilize my degree and experience now with this career.

I plan on posting updates here on my experiences and training over the next 9 months. So, stay tuned and wish me luck!
